Jeremy Bennett - LLB Hons
Managing Partner

Jeremy is the Managing Partner of the practice and former equity partner and Head of Finance Law at Hammonds’ Leeds office. Jeremy qualified in 1989 and is also a qualified Insolvency Practitioner. Jeremy specialises in all types of banking and corporate finance transactional work as well as being an expert in insolvency and recovery areas

Jeremy has been recognised in both Legal 500 and Chambers as one of the lead experts in his field in the North East of England, in particular his specialism relates to advising Asset Based Lenders under risk.  He is also the legal adviser to the Corporate Finance Network.

Doug Robertson
Partner

Graduated from Durham University (College of St Hild and St Bede) in 1999 with an LLB Law Degree, he took the LPC at York School of Law in 2000 before qualifying as a solicitor in 2002 with Lupton Fawcett.

Doug stayed with Lupton Fawcett in the insolvency department from spring 2002 until he joined JB Law in June 2008.  Doug has specialised in all areas of insolvency including:

1. Bankruptcy and personal insolvency – particularly asset realisation
2. Property sales and receiverships
3. Legal issues with trading insolvencies (including Administrative Receivership and Administrations)
4. Care sector receiverships and administrations
5. Business sales
6. LPA Receiverships
7. Section 216 re-use of restricted names
8. Dealing with antecedent transactions
9. Insolvent property
10. Pre-pack business sales

Doug’s particular expertise is in relation to property related insolvency and pre-pack business sales and regularly acts for the big four accountants, high street banks and regional and local insolvency practitioners.

Tim Pope - BA Hons Law

Tim is a solicitor and a Licensed Insolvency Practitioner and was formerly a partner in the DLA and Hammonds London offices. Tim is experienced in every aspect of non-contentious reconstruction and insolvency work acting for banks, asset based lenders, creditors and insolvency practitioners. He has acted in administrations, receiverships liquidations, fixed charge receiverships and members voluntary liquidations. Tim is also experienced in all aspects of property lending and recovery work and acting for management and lenders in MBO/MBI work
